Icosavax, Inc. (NASDAQ: ICVX) is a publicly traded biopharmaceutical company leveraging its innovative VLP platform technology to develop vaccines against infectious diseases, with an initial focus on life-threatening respiratory diseases. Icosavax’s VLP platform technology is designed to enable multivalent, particle-based display of complex viral antigens, which it believes will induce broad, robust, and durable protection against the specific viruses targeted. Icosavax’s pipeline includes vaccine candidates targeting respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), human metapneumovirus (hMPV), and severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Based in Seattle, Icosavax was formed in 2017 to advance the breakthrough VLP technology from the Institute for Protein Design at the University of Washington with the goal to discover, develop, and commercialize vaccines against infectious diseases.
 
Icosavax seeks to hire a Project Manager with biotech experience for our Project Management Office (PMO). This position will play a key role in supporting the PMO in delivering value to our functions and programs through their expert knowledge of and skills in using project management tools to create and manage timelines and budgets; driving effective meetings and follow-up; and measuring and successes and risks.
 
The successful candidate will be highly self-motivated, productive, a quick learner, and creative.  They will be comfortable partnering with diverse technical and scientific functions.  They will have excellent written and verbal communication skills. The position requires an independent worker motivated by performance excellence and team success, someone who can roll up their sleeves and assist where needed, working within a lean organization, and partnering with employees at all levels of the organization.
 
They will enjoy working within a fast-paced PMO and partnering with senior PM’s. The successful candidate will be a positive and enthusiastic team player, able to work under guidance and take pride in the quality and timely delivery of their work.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Develop and maintain high-quality project plans that can drive effective communication, facilitate scenario planning, and enable decision making
Monitor and track projects progress in terms of scope, timelines and milestones to ensure delivery on time in full
Support the building and maintenance of relevant project and functional documentations, e.g., action item logs, risk logs, etc.
Facilitate and identify critical project risks to timeline and work with the team to create mitigation plans. Support escalation to senior management as necessary
Maintain communication tools including progress tracking and reporting
Independently own and manage smaller projects within functions or program teams, as required, from beginning to end
Support functions and programs to facilitate team meetings including as required with meeting organization, facilitation, agendas, minutes, and action item tracking
Assist in the management of key vendors/CROs/CDMOs; including legal and financial commitments (contracting, PO process, vendor budget tracking and payment)
Work within the PMO team to ensure proper integration of functional and programmatic plans and alignment with corporate goals and strategy.  Highlight bottlenecks and constraints
Work with the PMO to standardize/harmonize ways of working across the organization; participate/lead the building and roll out of systems and processes, including education, training, etc.
 Identify and implement best practices and share tools to increase efficiency and consistency of program team processes and deliverables, for example, integrated timelines that highlight critical path, decision making, risk management, etc.
Support functional resource planning, where required
Perform other duties as assigned
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Bachelor’s degree required
5+ years of multi-disciplinary experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably biotechnology or vaccines, with demonstrated cross-functional management skills
Working knowledge of key functional areas throughout all stages of product development, including Research, Preclinical, Clinical, Regulatory, Operations, Quality Assurance, etc.
Strong project management skills, including understand and practice in using PM tools to drive results
Exceptional computer skills (e.g., MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and familiarity with managing web-based applications; Proficiency with Smartsheet
Ability to think critically and a high learning agility
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus but not required
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 
 
Manual dexterity required to operate office equipment (i.e., computers, phones, etc.).

The salary range for this position is $95,000 – 115,000 per year; the base salary will be determined based on knowledge, skills, education, and experience relevant to the role.
