Icosavax seeks a Research Associate II with a background in general lab operations and downstream process development to advance our clinical manufacturing programs. The primary focus of the position will involve general lab support and downstream process development of recombinant proteins.
JOB DUTIES
·       Execute small-scale protein purification using Akta systems and a wide range of column chromatography techniques.
·       Characterize recombinant proteins using biophysical techniques including UV-Vis, SDS-PAGE, HPLC and BLI.
·       Capture primary data and document work as required in Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN), maintaining up to date records.
·       Conduct essential lab functions including buffer preparation, ordering, shipping and equipment operation/maintenance.
·       Assist in authoring SOPs, methods and technical reports.
·       Effectively communicate experimental design and results to supervisor and/or project teams.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: 
·       BS degree in life sciences
·       2+ years industry experience
·       Experience with chromatographic purification of recombinant proteins
·       Experience with general day-to-day lab operations
·       Practical knowledge with analytical characterization of recombinant proteins
·       Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills
·       Demonstrated proficiency in data analysis and verbal and written technical communication
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 
·       Manual dexterity required to operate office and lab equipment.

The salary range for this position is $80,000 – $90,000 per year; the base salary will be determined based on knowledge, skills, education, and experience relevant to the role.
